Skolkovo Innovation Centre

The Skolkovo Innovation Center is often referred to as Russia’s equivalent of Silicon Valley due to its focus on fostering a vibrant ecosystem of innovation, technology development, and entrepreneurship.

The center brings together startups, research institutions, universities, venture capital firms, and multinational corporations within a single integrated environment designed to accelerate the creation and commercialization of advanced technologies.

Its mission is to strengthen Russia’s knowledge-based economy by supporting breakthrough innovations with global market potential.

A key component of the Skolkovo ecosystem is its Technopark and the Skolkovo Institute of Science and Technology (Skoltech), a graduate research university established to promote world-class scientific research and technological innovation.

Together, these institutions create opportunities for education, research, startup incubation, and industry collaboration, helping bridge the gap between academic discoveries and commercial applications.

The center has supported thousands of startups and innovative enterprises by offering grants, tax incentives, mentoring programs, investor connections, and opportunities for international expansion. Through these initiatives, Skolkovo has become one of the largest and most influential technology and innovation hubs in Russia and Eastern Europe.

Beyond its role as a technology hub, Skolkovo was conceived as a modern innovation city, featuring research facilities, offices, educational institutions, residential areas, and public spaces within a sustainable urban environment.

The project reflects a long-term vision of creating a community where scientists, entrepreneurs, students, and business leaders can live, work, collaborate, and develop next-generation technologies that address both national and global challenges.
